The Travelling Bagpiper, Stuart MacLaughlan travels all over the world performing a range of stunning bagpipe songs. The featured Piper at the retirement of the Flying Scotsman steam locomotive in York. In addition featuring in many news articles, both in the UK and abroad. Proud to be probably the most photographed Piper in the UK.
Also the first Piper to play on the 100th Anniversary of the end of the First World War on BBC One Breakfast Live at Lichfield Cathedral.
Stuart MacLaughlan was born in Bathgate, Scotland and later moved south of the border to England. He began playing the bagpipes at the age of seven and has been a full-time professional Piper for the last 30 years.
He regularly plays and entertains people in over 100 towns and cities in the UK and has played in numerous locations in Europe.
He was the featured Piper at the retirement of the Flying Scotsman steam locomotive in York and has featured in several news articles both home and abroad – he is probably the most photographed Piper in the UK!
He can also play the Scottish Small Pipes ‘Bellows’ including a limited selection of Irish tunes. This is a quieter sounding instrument which may be more suitable for indoor venues.
He has an extensive repertoire of over 250 tunes and has recorded six CD albums to date. They are available to be purchased by email request or in person. There are 3 Scottish, 2 Irish and 1 Christmas Carol Albums.
